is northwestern university in chicago or university of chicago a better school for studying pre med? probably biomedical engineering or chemical engineering would be my major.

i know i want to be an engineer, and i’m leaning towards chemical but i’m not totally sure. Should i go as engineering undecided or go chemical but possibly switch?
P.S i’m really leaning towards university of delaware
my sat math is 630 (i plan to get a tutor) will one of the above choices give me a better chance to get in?

i am attending florida state university going for chemical engineering. i just transferred this year from a college and am taking 3 classes. when i came here to this new city i was hoping to get a job and some help from my parents to pay the rent and get by with food, but that didn’t happen. i am in half of my semester doing great in my classes, but i dont have the financial stability to survive and stay in school. it kinda frustrates me that i have to leave and quit school like this because some financial stability that i dont have even tho i got some pell grant and loans. what i have to do to leave school, do i have to call the university and let them know, or just leave it like that? i want to register to another university in my home town. is this going to affect me attending to a new university? what about my loans? any ideas what can i do in this situation

I’m thinking about going to school there and was wondering what the outside opinion was of the school? I’m going to major in Chemical Engineering.

While Columbia has a better program and name I am leaning to Ohio State for couple reasons. Ohio State is in a college city whereas Columbia is in New York and not coming from a big city I don’t know how I would adjust in a big city. Two Columbia seems to be too competitive and does not have as much resources as Ohio State (which has tutoring sessions). Three from others who went to Columbia I found out that its much better to get a good GPA (3.4 and up) at a well known public university than to go to an Ivy league school and get average or above average grades.

How to tell if your girlfriend is cheating

motorcycle accident that left me unable to work for 1 year. My credit is not very good. I need a way to make this happen! Most of the major student loan companies have turned me down. Essentially, I owe the university 2000, which must be paid before I can register. I need another 10k (on top of what I can earn) to get through the school year. Any ideas? Thanks!

or no?

I’ve notice.. a lot of people are asking these question. Anyways, you would agree that chemical engineering is a good career. I notice when you graduate as an undergad with a bachelors in chemical engineering you can get jobs or is it that you should have ur masters or even PH.D?? Which school is a good school that offer good scholorships to international students. Plz help.. thanks

While Cornell has a more rigorous program and the label of an ivy league school. I am more leaning to transferring to Ohio State for couple reasons.
1. Ohio State is in a small scene tends to revolve around the university whereas Columbia is in a bigger city called New York and it would make me feel a little uneasy having lived in a small city most of my life.
2. The social life of the University is pretty good in comparison to Columbia. All my friends of Ohio State have things to do in their frame time where my Columbia friends only have free time really on weekends and sometimes thats not free.
3. While both programs are rigorous. I believe that Ohio State will be less competition in sense more students willing to help others and they will have more resources being a bigger school (more tutors, study groups).
4. With exception of physics, general chemistry, and calculus which I have a pretty strong background on and had good teachers, alot of the courses that would have been recommended to take prior to Columbia (Computer Science, O. Chem) I learned less because my university does not move at the same pace like Columbia. Whereas at Ohio State these courses are part of the graduation plan meaning that if I take them I can still finish in 2 years and I wont miss out on anything I would have needed to know.
5. While I do realize where you go has an impact on jobs I think its more important that you do well where you go (like 3.3 and higher) as opposed going to an ivy league school and just barely passing and not shining over everyone else.

I’m studying chemical engineering at university I’m from Birmingham and I’m really interested in cars and their engines and so on. I wanted to know if there is anyway i could learn how to open up a car engine replace parts and fix faulty parts on a car. In essence i want to become a bit of a mechanic. But i don’t plan on working as one i just want to take it up as a hobby. So how could i go about learning all about car engines and so in my spare time.
