AT what point is a GPA concidered bad for a Chemical engineer, ok for a chemical engineer and good for a chemical engineer. Remember for both grad school and a job.

Recognoze that not all GPAs are the same; whether you got a 4.0 at Mom&Pop’s Podunk Institute Of Technocracy and Embalming or at a 3.0 at IvyTech WILL make a difference !

  2. For a job:
3.0 and higher is ideal for getting a job but I had friends get jobs with a lower GPA. The most important thing you can do is have a solid resume and good interview skills. If you have a 4.0 and can’t interview you will have problems getting jobs.
    For graduate school:
3.0 and higher also is usually the prerequisite for getting into graduate school. Some schools may let you in on a conditional basis with a lower GPA until you demonstrate you can handle the work.
